Another Chibok girl rescued by troops
The Operation Hadin Kai Theater Command soldiers of the Nigerian Army have successfully rescued Mary Nkeki, a 27-year-old Chibok girl.
She was saved on August 14 by members of the 81 Task Force Battalion in Dikwa during an operation into the terrorists’ stronghold, along with her repentant rebel husband named Adam.
According to Maj. Gen. Gold Chibuisi, Theater Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, “She is on serial number 55 of the abducted Chibok girl list now 27 years old Kibaku by tribe.” on Monday, August 21.
Before giving her back to representatives of the Borno State Government, Gen. Chibuisi revealed that “while in captivity, she was forcedly married to one Adam, a Boko Haram terrorist.”
“Since being saved, she has gone through a careful medical checkup at our hospital.
She has also been adequately revived and would be delivered to Borno state, he added.
Shortly after being turned over to the Borno State Ministry for Women Affairs personnel, Mary told reporters that she had given birth to two deceased female children for Adam.
She said that she and her husband, Adam, turned away from terrorism and fled the terrorist stronghold at the Dikwa axis, where they were both rescued by the military.
Since their rescue, she was separated from Adam, who, according to The PUNCH, was transported to the camp of the repentant rebels.
Mary is the 16th young woman whom the military has just saved.
