Sanwo-olu’s Commissioners List: Lagos Assembly okays 22, rejects 17 nominees
On Wednesday, the Lagos State House of Assembly approved 22 of the 39 cabinet nominations that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu had sent for consideration.
The confirmation came after a thorough and in-depth screening of the nominations by an ad hoc committee headed by the Chief Whip of the House, Hon. Fatai Mojeed, who presided over the day’s meeting, according to Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa.
He praised the committee’s efficiency and reminded the confirmed nominees to never forget that their first responsibility in their positions is to the State’s citizens, not to themselves.
Additionally, he pledged that the House will continue to work hard for the good of the country.
As Obasa mentioned the names of each nominee, a voice vote was taken to confirm them.
However, 17 of the nominations were turned down by the parliamentarians.
