At several places in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, agents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have detained 17 suspected internet fraudsters.
Following a succession of intelligence reports connecting the suspects to various internet illegal activities, the suspects were captured during a sting operation.
Through a tweet on its Twitter website, the Commission acknowledged the arrest.

Mobile phones, a television, a red Toyota Camry LE, a black Honda, and two Lexus vehicles were all found on the suspects.
“The suspects will be charged to Court as soon as the investigations are concluded,” it added.
