Grammy winner Tems bags fresh awards

Temilade Openiyi, aka Tems, a Grammy-winning singer from, took home two honors on Wednesday.

On September 6, 2023, in London, United Kingdom, at the ELLE Style Awards, the Oscar-nominated diva won the Trailblazer Award.

Tems was on location to accept her award, which was given by BBC Radio 1 host Julie Adenuga and BAFTA-winning actress Naomi Ackie.

The ‘Essence’ singer credited her upbringing in Lagos, Nigeria, and her faith for her career success thus far in her acceptance speech.

On the other side of the Atlantic, Tems received the Songwriter of the Year award at the 2023 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards, which were presented on September 6, 2023, at Miami Beach’s LIV Nightclub.

She was honored for her composition contributions to Future and Drake’s “Wait For U,” Rihanna’s “Lift Me Up,” and “Free Mind.”
