Oba Abideen Adeyemi, the Alamo of Ayegbaju Ijesa, a monarch of Osun State, narrowly escaped an assassination attempt on Saturday in Ilesa.
According to a source who wished to remain anonymous, unidentified gunmen in Ilesa town opened fire on Oba Adeyemi and his vehicle.
Following his 18th coronation anniversary celebration in the historic town of Saturday, The Alamo was purportedly assaulted by the shooters.
He was reportedly shot, according to information.
The source further revealed that the monarch and his driver were saved and sent to an unnamed hospital in a hurry.
The Osun State Police Command’s public relations officer, Yemisi Opalola, responded to the shooting news by stating that an investigation is underway.
Opalola promised that the offenders will be prosecuted.
