Yobe Assembly approves bill creating Hisba Commission

The Yobe State House of Assembly has approved legislation to establish the Hisba Commission in the state.

On Wednesday, the law was passed.

According to the committee’s head, Yakubu Suleiman, the establishment of the Hisba Commission would aid the government in guaranteeing appropriate Shari’a law implementation in order to cleanse society of all social vices and crimes.

Suleiman thanked members of the House for their varied contributions to the Hisba Bill’s success.

The Yobe State House of Assembly had already endorsed the report of its Standing Committee on Justice, Judiciary, and Religious Affairs on a bill aiming to create the Hisba Commission in the state.

The report was adopted by the House following significant consideration on the committee’s 41 recommendations.
