Gunmen kidnapped a Priest and three others in Maigemu District of Jos East Local Government Area, Plateau State.
The gunmen allegedly stormed ECWA Church Nuku at 5:40 a.m. on Wednesday and abducted the clergyman in front of his family.
According to Platinum Times, the gunmen who went unnoticed for about 40 minutes also kidnapped three other people: Agwom Dauda, Usman Umaru, and a woman simply named as Sarah.
According to a source close to the neighborhood, the gunmen, who fired multiple rounds into the air to scare off rescuers, including vigilantes and hunters, fled in a car with their hostages, while others followed on motorcycles.
According to a cousin of the cleric who spoke on the condition of anonymity, the kidnappers have yet to contact the families for ransom.
Confirming the incident, State Police Spokesman DSP Alfred Alabo said agents are on the scene and working to apprehend the criminals.
