UNGA 78: Remi Tinubu arrives New York

Senator Oluremi Tinubu, First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has arrived in New York ahead of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 78).
Prof. Tijjani Bande, Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, received her upon arrival.
Senator Tinubu will speak at the Nigeria Economic Trade Summit, the Africa First Ladies Peace Mission side discussion on Gender Actions for Peace, and the DUSUSU Foundation, among other high-level gatherings.
The First Lady had a brief detour in Madeira, Portugal, on her way to New York, where she met with the Nigerian Ambassador to Portugal, Alex Kefas.
President Bola Tinubu will also attend the 78th United Nations General Assembly in New York, where he is anticipated to hold bilateral talks as well as commercial meetings with US President Joe Biden.
The President, who will leave Abuja on Sunday for the United Nations General Assembly in New York, will also meet with his Brazilian counterpart, Lula Silva, and other world leaders.
This was revealed on Friday by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President, during a press conference at the Presidential Villa Abuja ahead of the president’s departure to New York.
Ngelale stated that President Tinubu will meet with significant CEOs and leaders of multinational enterprises from all sectors of the economy, including the President of Microsoft Company Worldwide, Brad Smith, to enhance the country’s digital transformation.
