Until his killers are brought to book, I wont pay my last respect to Mohbad – Bella Shrmurda
Akinbiyi Abiola Ahmed, also known as Bella Shrmurda, a prominent Nigerian artist, has stated that he will not pay his last respects to Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, until his killers are brought to justice.
Mohbad died on Tuesday and was laid to rest the next day, in a contentious manner.
Concerns have been expressed over his death since he was not given a proper funeral befitting his position in the entertainment world.
Nigerian youths, particularly Mohbad’s followers, have taken to social media to demand justice for him, with some storming streets in Lagos, Ogun, and Delta states.
Bella Shmurda said on X in response to his death on Monday, “Until those who oppress him face justice and sentenced, nothing like last respect.” “Igboro, be aware (make the street aware).”
On Monday, the Lagos State Police Command established a 13-member special investigative team to look into Mohbad’s killing.
On Tuesday, Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu authorized the state Police Command, in partnership with the Department of State Service (DSS), to conduct a major inquiry into the circumstances surrounding his death.
