(Abuja) Two sentenced to 3months in prison over vanishing genitals
On Friday, a Karu Upper Area Court in Abuja convicted two men, Basil Eze and Awaisu Jibrin, to three months in prison each for character defamation.
However, the court, Malam Isa Adamu, gave the prisoners the option of paying a N10,000 fine apiece.
The defendants, who live in Garki, Abuja, pled guilty to character defamation.
Earlier, Olarewaju Osho, the prosecution’s lawyer, told the court that the complainant, Yakubu Tijani, reported the case to the Garki Police Station on Oct. 4, after the defendants accused him of “shrinking” their genitals after he approached them and asked for directions to a street.
However, throughout the course of the police inquiry, the inmates were transported to a hospital, where it was determined that their genitals had not been “stolen.”
He claimed that the offense violated Section 392 of the Penal Code.
