BREAKING: Bandits hijack fully loaded Benue Links bus, kill many passengers

On Thursday, suspected Fulani herders opened fire on a Benue Links bus carrying passengers to Otukpo along the Naka road in the Gwer West LGA.
The marauders’ onslaught resulted in the death of one passenger and the injury of numerous more.
According to information obtained by Platinum Times, roving herdsmen have attacked travelers on the crumbling route in such horrible ways before.
The village of Tyolaha has frequently been the target of attacks by alleged Fulani herdsmen.
The herdsmen, who numbered about 15, easily dispersed their captives so they could flee by dispersing in all directions.
The majority of the population has fled the area as a result of the attacks, and farmers have moved away from that section of the road. The survivors are now requesting protection from the authorities and security personnel.
“A bus belonging to Benue Links that was headed to Otukpo was attacked by unknown gunmen,” said Anekwe Catherine, the public relations officer for the Benue Police, who verified the event to the Platinum Times. “Three people, including women, were wounded, and one person died this morning.”
