(Appeal court sack) Sen. Abbo apologizes after Akpabio swears on his mother’s grave

Elisha Abbo, the sacked Adamawa North Senator, has made a u-turn on his claim that Senate President Godswill Akpabio was behind the Appeal Court verdict that voided his election.
Abbo revealed that Akpabio swore by his mother’s grave that he was not behind the Appeal Court’s removal of him.
On Wednesday, he apologized to Senate President Mitch McConnell on Arise Television.
The Court of Appeal’s Abuja division annulled Abbo’s election on Monday.
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate Amos Yohanna, was pronounced the winner of the February 25 senate election by the court.
Dissatisfied with the decision, Abbo blamed it on Akpabio, stating that the Senate President was chasing people who worked against his election.
However, Akpabio has distanced himself from the appellate court decision that dismissed Abbo.
According to Abbo:
“I have to say this with all sense of humility and responsibility that the press release we issued yesterday was premature and based on the available information at our disposal yesterday
“As of today, we have discovered a lot of things, and yesterday night I had a discussion with the Senate President, and I am convinced that he is not involved.
Quoting Akpabio, Abbo said:
“I swear by my mother’s grave that I’m not involved; I don’t even know that you’re in court.”
He added:
“For a number three citizen to come up to tell me that he has sworn on his mother’s grave, a woman that he loves so much, a woman who brought him up after he lost his father at the age of six, I don’t see a reason why he would lie.”
