Biafra: Why Nnamdi Kanu’s case needs political settlement – Ex-Chief Judge

The best course of action for Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, to resolve the case has been proposed by Peter Umeadi, a former chief judge of Anambra State.

Kanu’s issue should, in Umeadi’s opinion, be settled politically rather than through the courts.

Speaking to reporters on Sunday in Abuja, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) presidential candidate for 2023 claimed that Kanu’s release would put an end to insecurity in the region.

According to Umeadi:

“Well, the issue of insecurity in the South East first of all, it has been said before and I agree, for now, it is a serious matter.

“If it is solved, then that is good. The problem, if it is not solved, then you begin to look for another reason why it is still there.

“But for now everybody is saying it and I agree that the issue of Nnamdi Kanu should be treated as a political matter, not a legal matter.

“So if he regains his freedom, perhaps that will be the end of what we are seeing in the South East
