Hoodlums storm Ogun varsity hostels, rape four students

The State Government has verified that four female students at the Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) in Ijagun, Ogun State, were sexually assaulted by thugs.
According to reports, the thugs broke into the students’ dorms early on Tuesday and got forcible access to the female students’ private areas.
According to Platinum Times, the hostel is situated in the off-campus neighborhood of Abapawa.
The Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital in Sagamu is where the four casualties are undergoing treatment. Mrs. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, said she had visited the patients there.
Along with the State Commissioner of Police, Alamutu Abiodun, and the Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Abayomi Arigbabu, Salako-Oyedele had hurried to the university.
“Distressing and brutal” was how the Deputy Governor characterized the encounter in a post on her verified Facebook page.
She said,
“after receiving the distressing news about armed robbery at some TASUED hostels and the brutal rape of four female students, His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun CON directed me to immediately visit the victims and the campus on a fact finding mission and to pledge the Government’s support in ensuring this doesn’t happen again.
“I have visited the girls who are now being cared for and given the necessary support to heal from their trauma at the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) at OSUTH.”
She added that she had a crucial meeting with the Management and Students of TASUED in company of Alamutu and Arigbabu, to discuss concrete steps to bolster security measures and foster a safe environment on campus and the adjacent host community.
According to her, CP Alamutu had promised to arrest the perpetrators of the crime.
