More crisis as Rivers Assembly suspends four members

Four members of the Rivers State House of Assembly have been suspended.

This came after Monday morning’s suspension of House Leader Edison Ehie, who represents the Ahoada seat.

Adolphus Timothy, representing Opobo/Nkoro, Victor Oko-Jumbo, representing Bonny, and Goodboy Sokari Goodboy, representing Ahoada, are the other Assembly members suspended.

Ehie and six other House members were suspended by Speaker of the House Martins Amaewhule following accusations that they planned the explosion that shook the Assembly compound on Sunday night.

The House also declared that Governor Siminalayi Fubara will be impeached due to alleged misconduct and abuse of authority.

However, supporters of Fubara and Ehie did not take kindly to the move, and they went on the rampage, forcing the members to evacuate the Assembly complex.
