BREAKING: Kayode Egbetokun confirmed as substantive IGP by Police Council

Kayode Egbetokun has been officially confirmed by the National Police Council to serve as the Inspector-General of Police (IGP).

President Bola Tinubu appointed Egbetokun to succeed Usman Baba as IGP on June 19.

During a meeting on Tuesday at the presidential palace, the council confirmed Egbetokun.

Tinubu presided over the council, which included the state governors present.

After the council meeting, Minister of Police Affairs Ibrahim Gaidam informed the media that Egbetokun had been confirmed.

He emphasized Egbetokun’s outstanding international exposure and curriculum vitae.
