In Jigawa State, two wives of the chairman of the Kiyawa Local Government Council have been abducted by gunmen.
According to a local who spoke with Platinum Times, the event happened on Friday night when the thugs broke into Kiyawa town, gained entry to the chairman’s home, and took the two wives hostage.
According to the source, the town was thrown into panic and bewilderment as the suspected offenders opened fire into the air.
He disclosed that one of the kidnapped wives is quite pregnant and will give birth at any time.
SP Lawal Shisu Adam, the Jigawa State Police Command spokesperson, verified the event.
He added that the event happened on Friday night after they had shot randomly, frightening the neighbors.
SS Adam said that there had been no reports of injuries sustained during the event.
He stated, “Upon receiving information about the abduction, the state police command deployed a special police unit to rescue the victims and apprehend the suspected criminals.”
A source within the family also told Platinum Times that, to date, the kidnappers have not made any contact with the family.
