(Kaduna) Gov. Sani clears outstanding bills, orders restoration of power to varsity campuses
Senator Uba Sani, the governor of Kaduna State, has ordered the immediate restoration of power to the Kafanchan and Kaduna campuses of the Kaduna State University.
Platinum Times remembers that as a result of the institution’s debt, the power supply was switched off.
In order to facilitate the restoration of the power supply, the governor has since ordered the prompt payment of any outstanding obligations to the Kaduna Electric Company that have accrued since 2022.
In a statement, the governor’s chief press secretary, Muhammad Lawal Shehu, said that Governor Sani had given Professor Muhammad Sani Bello, the commissioner of education, instructions to look into the root causes of the extended power outage that was affecting both campuses.
The statement claims that one of Governor Uba Sani’s top priorities is education, and the governor has promised to keep implementing initiatives and interventions to help students in all state-owned postsecondary institutions overcome the difficulties they face.
