BREAKING: INEC ad hoc staff, Police stranded in Owerri

The fact that some ad hoc employees of the Independent National Electoral Commission and Nigeria Police personnel have not yet boarded buses that will transport them to their designated locations as of 5 p.m. on Friday suggests that the Imo State governorship election may not begin as planned in some areas.
While at the RockView Hotel in Owerri’s Wetheral neighborhood, a few police officers stated they were still awaiting their allowances, pointing out that it would be challenging to function without money.
It was seen that certain cops who had already gotten into the car might have received compensation; one of them stated, “We require compensation to ensure we don’t encounter financial difficulties at our primary assignment locations.”
Onyinye, an INEC ad hoc worker, claimed that she arrived at the RockView Hotel area on Saturday in order to catch a free bus to her anticipated work location.
She told this news media,
“I got a hint that free buses will be here. But I got here only to find that those who I will work with have already gone and I am still trying to see how I can make it to where I will work on Saturday.”
In an attempt to board a bus that would transport them to the local government where they would work during the election, other ad hoc workers were observed rushing from bus to bus.
Residents were also observed making impromptu purchases because stores would be closed for the majority of Saturday. Additionally, some people were boarding buses to vote in the election
