PDP raises alarm as Imo APC Women Leader receive electoral materials

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has claimed that the All Progressives Congress, APC, was preparing to use its members as ad hoc staff in Imo State’s ongoing governorship race.

In a statement issued on its official X Twitter on Saturday, the party claimed that a female APC leader was spotted taking delivery of voting materials in Owerri, the state capital.

The party stated that APC members will not be allowed to act as Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, personnel during the election.

The post reads,

“APC Members Cannot Serve as @inecnigeria Ad-Hoc Staff. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has busted plans by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to plant its members as ad-hoc staff to conduct elections in Imo State.

“Of particular reference is the APC Woman Leader in Owerri Ward caught taking delivery of INEC materials.

“This is part of the rigging plots designed by the compromise Imo REC, Prof. Sylvia Agu. The people of Imo State know such APC members and will not accept them as INEC officers.

“INEC should immediately withdraw such APC members and re-profile their staff to avert the crisis”.
