Kogidecides2023: Despite tight security, vote buying floods Lokoja polling units

As voting in Kogi State governorship election progresses, there have been reports of vote buying in several polling units.
Many people told Platinum Times that they were promised N5,000 if they voted for a specific political party.
Our correspondent witnessed an incident in the Miami Polling Unit in Lokoja’s Adankolo region, where an agent of a political party was spotted carefully monitoring and attempting to determine who the voters voted for before effecting payment at a nearby property.
The incident comes despite the deployment of agents by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission to combat vote buying in the Kogi, Imo, and Bayelsa gubernatorial elections.
Previously, Platinum Times reported that INEC staff were allegedly discovered with pre-recorded result sheets from various voting stations in Kogi state.
