The Independent National Electoral Commission has handed certificates of return to Kogi State Governor-Elect Usman Ahmed Ododo and his Deputy, Joel Oyibo Salifu.
The All Progressives Congress received the most votes in last weekend’s governorship election, which elected Ododo as the state’s next governor.
A large crowd of fans, family members, and associates gathered at INEC headquarters in Lokoja to witness the presentation of certificates.
Shortly after collecting his certificate, Kogi State Governor-elect Usman Ahmed Ododo stated that he would work for a more just and egalitarian Kogi State, as well as a more united Kogi State.
The Governor-Elect thanked the people of the state for their tremendous support at the polls, describing it as a consolidation of the state’s power and solidarity.
