NPF recruitment: Kaduna, Adamawa lead states with highest applications

According to the Police Service Commission (PSC), Kaduna and Adamawa states have the most applicants in the ongoing recruitment of Constables for the Nigeria Police.

PSC’s Head of Press and Public Relations, Mr Ikechukwu Ani, stated this in a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja.

He stated that Kaduna State had the most applicants (40,272), followed by Adamawa with 36,398.

Ani stated that Bornu was third with 32,048, followed by Benue with 31,122, Katsina with 30,202, Bauchi with 30,604 and Kano with 30,004.

He stated that Anambra has the fewest candidates (1,664), followed by Ebonyi (2,132), and Lagos State (2324).

According to a PSC official, Bayelsa had the fourth-lowest number of applicants (2,651), followed by Abia (2,796).

He said 547,774 applications had been received via the police recruitment portal, which is set to close on November 26.

Ani stated that the portal, which started on October 15, would close six weeks after the application deadline.

According to him, 358,900 of the 547,774 applications were successful and advanced to the next round of the recruitment process.

He stated that the processes included physicals, credentials, medicals, and stringent background checks on applicants, and that 84,606 applicants were denied due to their age.

Ani stated that the Chairman of the PSC, Dr. Solomon Arase, expressed pleasure with the number of applications received so far.

According to Arase, the quantity of applications shows that Nigerian teenagers are very interested in working with the Nigeria Police. (NAN)
