Ex President Buhari speaks on cabals running his government

Former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has stated that he does not miss his time as president.

He went on to say that it was only in Nigerians’ imaginations that he had cabals running the country for him while he was in office.

Buhari made the claim during his first interview with the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) since leaving office on May 29, 2023, according to a 1.42-minute teaser of the interview released by NTA on its X profile (previously known as Twitter) on Sunday.

Buhari, when asked about what he misses from his time in office, responded saying:

“Miss? Oh dear me, I don’t think I miss much.”

On his diplomatic relationships when in power, he said,

“I am so preoccupied with the local problems that I hardly think about the external problems.”

On claims that his government was hijacked by cabals or it was imaginations of Nigerians, he replied,

“It must have been (imagination).”

Muhammadu Buhari had in December 2022 expressed his desperation to leave office and return to his village.

He had said he was eager to leave office and return to his hometown, Daura in Katsina State after handing over power to whoever emerges as the next president in the 2023 election.

Buhari, however, said when he leaves office on May 29, 2023, he will stay away from Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory to avoid problems.
