Gov Sanwo-Olu appoints Folakemi Animashaun new LSACA CEO

Dr. Folakemi Basirat Animashaun has been appointed as the next Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Lagos State Aids Control Agency (LSACA) with effect from October 30, 2023, by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The appointment is in acknowledgment of Dr. Animashaun’s track record as a Medical Doctor, Technocrat, and Public Servant with an excellent performance of technical and practical medical services within the Lagos State Civil Service, according to the Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, in a statement.

He said,

“The State Government expects the new Chief Executive Officer to demonstrate a high level of dedication, diligence and selflessness in the discharge of her duties to justify the confidence and trust reposed in her by Mr. Governor”.

Dr. Animashaun graduated from Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital in Sagamu, Ogun State, with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). She later received a Master of Public Health (MPH) with distinction from the University of Essex in the United Kingdom.

She also holds an MBA with distinction from the University of Chichester Top-up London Graduate School in the United Kingdom, as well as a Diploma in Strategic Leadership and Management from the Metropolitan School of Business Management in the United Kingdom, as well as a number of Diploma Certificates from prestigious institutions.

Dr. Animashaun previously served as the Administrator of the Lagos State Emergency Command and Control Centre, where she oversaw the State’s emergency and non-emergency services.
