Gunmen whisk away Lagos govt official in Ikorodu

Unknown gunmen are said to have kidnapped a Lagos State government official who is yet to be identified.
The event occurred on Monday at the victim’s residence, locally known as Jagaban, in the Progressive Estate in Igbe-Oloja, Ikorodu.
According to accounts, the victim is a top Revenue Department employee at Government House in Alausa.
The kidnappers were claimed to have made touch with the victim’s wife and demanded N20 million for his release.
A team of police officers and other security personnel were believed to be hovering in the area looking for hints that could lead to his rescue.
The Lagos State police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the heinous event to Vanguard but did not provide further details.
“All I can tell you is that we received such a report but I cannot tell who he is. All I know is that our men are there and doing everything possible to rescue the man and apprehend the hoodlums that kidnapped him”, he said.
