JUST IN: Osun chapter of JUSUN embarks on indefinite strike

The Osun State Chapter of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, JUSUN, has begun an indefinite strike with immediate effect.

Oluwagbenga Olakunle Eludire, the chairman of JUSUN in the state, declared the strike on Wednesday.

The strike follows the Osun JUSUN protest on Monday and Tuesday over claims of maladministration against the controversial Osun Chief Judge, Justice Oyebola Adepele Ojo.

JUSUN members also accused her of unfairly pursuing some staff members and denying them entitlements ranging from the restoration of training exercises to the arrears of wardrobe allowances from 2021 to 2023, as well as the reinstatement of judiciary workers in the state suspended by Justice Adepele Ojo.

“Regularisation and promotion exercise without further delay should be effected.

“Also other benefits that members of JUSUN are entitled to should be effected without further delays.”

Eludire directed all Judiciary workers in the state to stay away from the courts and their offices and withdraw their services.
