Members of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly unanimously elected Danladi Jatau of the Kokona West Constituency as Speaker of the House on Friday.
Similarly, Mohammed Oyanki, a member from Doma North Constituency, was elected as Deputy Speaker.

The newly held posts followed the dismissal of previous Speaker Ibrahim Abdullahi by the Appeal Court in Abuja on Tuesday.
According to our correspondent, the new Speaker, Jatua, a member of the All Progressives Congress, coordinated with Oyanki, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, to emerge as the assembly’s leader in order to maintain the assembly’s current calm.
