FFK slams Ohanaeze president, Iwuanyanwu, says: ‘Nonsense lie, Igbos didn’t develop Lagos’

Former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode has slammed Ohanaeze President-General Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu’s claim that Igbos transformed Lagos State from a swamp to a megacity.

Fani-Kayode called Iwuanyanwu’s remark a “specious lie” and “dishonest nonsense.”

Igbos, according to Iwuanyanwu, are “the pioneers” and “heroes” of modern Lagos State.

He claimed that Igbo ancestors turned swampy areas into habitable areas.

In response, a senior member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, argued that Lagos State was never a slum before the Igbos arrived.

Posting on X, Fani-Kayode wrote:

“This is nothing but a specious and self-serving LIE.

“It can best be described as disingenuous nonsense!

“FACTS: Yorubas are NOT “political rascals”.

“Lagos is NOT “no mans land.

“Binis did NOT “found Lagos.

“Lagos was NOT “a slum before the Igbos got there, do not let the historical revisionists fool you!”
