Just In: Gov Sani knocks DHQ over statement on Kaduna community bombing
Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has slammed the Defence Headquarters, DHQ, statement on the Tudun Biri airstrike as careless.
Recall that an Army drone blasted Tudun Biri people in the state’s Igabi Local Government Area.
Several devotees enjoying the Maulud holiday in the village were killed as a result of the tragedy.
Confirming the occurrence, the Nigerian Army blamed the attack on incorrect intelligence, emphasizing that it was an error.
However, Sani stated that the Nigerian Army’s assertions that there are terrorists within the community must be verified.
Speaking with Channels TV on Friday, Sani said:
“What happened in Tundun Biri is something that is unfortunate and avoidable. But the fact that the Chief of Defence Staff took responsibility is the reason why the community is calm.
“To say that some terrorists are in the community is something that needs verification. I think it was a very careless statement.
“If you visit the hospital and see what is happening, you would condemn statements like this (DHQ). I don’t want to emphasise the statement.”
