Dangote Truck driver collapses, dies in hospital

Johnson Samson, a truck driver, was reportedly slumped inside the cabin of his truck on Monday at Dangote Agro Sack Area, Dangote Cement Plant, Ibese, Ogun State.
Samson, a truck driver employed by Dangote Cement Transport in Ibese, was subsequently pronounced dead by a doctor who attended to him.
PUNCH Metro learned that the driver had previously complained of illness to one of his coworkers, named only as Oharisi, and urged that he rest.
Given his condition, the driver was recommended to go and relax inside his truck, which was parked at the factory’s agro bag at Ibese.
When the driver did not return some minutes later, his colleagues became concerned, so they dispatched another colleague to check on him, where he was discovered unconscious within the cabin of his vehicle.
Our correspondent learned that after the discovery, the colleague notified others and brought Samson to one Jaji Clinic, Dangote Ibese, where he was later confirmed dead by the medical staff.
Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, confirmed the occurrence to our correspondent on Tuesday, saying there was no suspicion of foul play after studying the body.
She stated,
“The body was examined by our men. We didn’t discover any violence or foul play. The body has been deposited at the state hospital morgue for postmortem examination.”
