The value of the naira dropped from N1,185 per dollar last Friday to N1,205 per dollar on the parallel market yesterday.
On the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market, the naira did, however, improve to N864.29 per dollar (NAFEM).
The indicative exchange rate for NAFEM dropped from N1,099.05 to N864.29 per dollar last weekend, according to data from FMDQ, showing a 21 percent or N234.76 gain for the naira.

Because of this, the difference in the official and black market exchange rates increased, going from N85.95 per dollar last Friday to N340.71 per dollar yesterday.
The amount of money (turnover) exchanged on NAFEM climbed from $584.02 million to $560.39 million last week, a 4.04 percent gain.
