According to reports, a young guy and his girlfriend in the Ugborikoko community in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State perished after breathing in fumes from a generator that was locked inside their flat throughout the night.
It was learned that the man—whose identity was withheld—had to a nightclub on Sunday to celebrate his girlfriend’s birthday with his boyfriend.
It was learned that after the party, the two walked to the woman’s store, turned on the generator inside, and then went to bed. They perished before dawn.
Early on Monday morning, neighbors are said to have found the two lovers’ dead bodies in the room.
During a phone conversation with reporters on Tuesday morning, DSP Bright Edafe, the Police Public Relations Officer for Delta State Command, verified the graphic occurrence.
While some sympathizers blamed the deceased “for causing their families pain this holiday season,” others said it might have been the result of malicious manipulation by their opponents.
