Ekiti bank robbery: Gov Oyebanji orders manhunt for perpetrators
Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, instructed security agencies in the state on Thursday to apprehend the culprits of Wednesday’s bank heist in Ikere-Ekiti and bring them to justice.
“No stone will be left unturned in the bid to bring the perpetrators to book,” Oyebanji added, describing the armed robbery as “senseless and disheartening.”
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, the governor expressed condolences to the relatives of the robbery victims, the Ogoga-in-Council, and the people of Ikere Ekiti.
According to sources, the armed robbers who struck on Wednesday targeted two banks in the neighborhood, killing three people and injuring several more.

The governor, who emphasized the importance of local alertness in security, urged individuals who had information that can assist security forces in their investigations to share it with the appropriate authorities.
Oyebanji said,
“The perpetrators of this heinous crime will not go unpunished. Our security agencies will go after them and ensure they face the guilt and wrath of the law.
“Our condolences to the families of victims of the robbery attack and the Ikere people,” he said.
He urged the people of the state to remain calm and vigilant as they go about their daily activities, adding that the government is committed to their security and safety and would not spare any efforts at ridding the state of criminal elements.
