Two confirmed dead as fire razes ex gov’s residence

Two people were reportedly killed and valuables worth millions of Naira were lost in a Monday morning fire at one of the structures in the Opadoyin complex of former Oyo state governor, late Adebayo Alao-Akala.

According to one account, the conflagration started around 7:50 a.m.

The fire was most likely started by a power surge, according to the source.

According to reports, one of the victims died quickly, while the other passed away at Bowen University Teaching Hospital Ogbomoso, where she had been transported for medical assistance.

Another witness to the event said he awoke around 8 a.m. and observed smoke coming from a part of the structure but couldn’t figure out what was causing it.

Political allies, acquaintances, and family members of the late ex-governor are alleged to have visited the mansion to express their condolences to the family.
