Cholera kills six children, others hospitalized in Taraba
Six persons have died and 40 others have been hospitalized as a result of a cholera outbreak in the Jukun hamlet of Didango in Taraba State’s Karim Lamido Local Government Council.
The council’s chairman, Sunday Danjos, disclosed the terrible news over the weekend during a press conference in Jalingo, the state capital.
He urged the afflicted community to be patient, saying, “I want to call on my people to exercise patience with the current happenings, particularly in Jukun, Didango, of Karim Lamido Local Government.”
Danjos went on to say, “The pandemic is cholera; this is due to the bad water people drink.” They drink it with the animals, which has harmed their health by causing them to purge and vomit.
