Rivers Crisis: Your actions are correct – Odili hails Fubara

Former Rivers State Governor Peter Odili says he is pleased with Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s policies since his inauguration in May.

Dr. Odili stated this at the Pamo University of Medical Sciences’ 3rd Convocation and 6th Founders’ Day ceremonies, saying, “the governor has hit the ground running.”

The first step in a good dance is the first step. Your initial actions are correct.

“There is no doubt that you will dance well.”

This declaration comes amid uneasy calm in Rivers state, where the schism between Nyesom Wike and Fubara has split lawmakers in the House, with 27 defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), a party whose central government Wike currently serves.

On Monday, President Bola Tinubu’s participation was required to mediate some level of peace between the two groups.

Dr. Odili, who served as Governor from 1999 to 2007, expressed trust in Governor Fubara based on his activities thus far.

He told Governor Fubara, the institution’s Special Visitor, that government is a difficult business, but that his institution will continue to pray for him to succeed.
