The Nigerian Police Force published the schedule for physical screening of applicants for recruitment into the Force on Thursday.
In a post on X, the Police directed recruiting applicants to go to https://apply.policerecruitment.gov.ng/print-screen-status to find out their physical screening date and time.
From the 15th of October to the 26th of November, 2023, the online application site was open for six weeks.
In a related incident, the Police Service Commission (PSC) has denied a popular video showing an invitation for recruit screening with a N2,000 payment request.
The commission asked all prospective recruits to avoid any form of payment because police work is free.
The commission’s spokesman, Ikechukwu Ani, described the publication urging prospective candidates for screening for recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force’s Constable cadre to bring N2000 as false.
“The message which had the name of the Commission on top, reads “Police Service Commission: congratulations and U have been shortlisted for the physical screening 8 January 2024, come along with 2k when coming.”
Ani said the PSC disowned and disassociated itself from the said publication which is fictitious and misleading.
