Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan mourns as elder sister passes away
Madam Obebhatein Jonathan, the elder sister of the late President Goodluck Jonathan, has away.
Following a brief illness, Obebhatein passed away at the Federal Medical Centre in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, on Thursday at the age of 70.
Ikechukwu Eze, a spokesman for Jonathan, revealed this in a statement.
According to the statement, the deceased, also known as Amissi, was a loving mother, grandmother, businesswoman, and retired teacher who dedicated her life to serving God and humanity.
She was described as a moral woman, a devout Christian, and an inspiration to many both inside and outside of her community.
The statement added that the burial has been set for Tuesday, February 16, 2024, and emphasized that the family will make an announcement regarding the specifics of the funeral ceremonies.
Three children, including His Excellency Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, and her mother, Mama Eunice Afeni-Jonathan, survive Madam Obebhatein Jonathan.
