Tears flow as 7 family members perish following fire outbreak in Kano

A family in Kano state lost seven relatives due to a fire outbreak.
The incident which occurred at Tudunwada community of Nassarawa Local Government Area of the state, after electric sparks.
Idi Maikatako, an eyewitness, stated that the incident occurred when the victims were asleep at midnight.
The witness claimed that as soon as the area’s energy supply was restored, a spark in one of the apartments caused the fire to ignite.
According to Mr. Maikatako, the father, Malam Sule, his wife, and five of his six children perished in the fire.
He added that the sixth youngster is in the hospital right now getting treatment.
Saminu Yusif, a spokesman for the Kano State Fire Service, verified the occurrence when reached and said that the victims may have perished from asphyxia during the fire outbreak.
He claims that at approximately 12:25 a.m., a resident named Ibrahim Sani called the Service to report that a house was on fire.
He clarified that after learning of the incident, headquarters dispatched troops from the Dakata division. These guys raced to the scene and discovered that although the fire had been put out by friendly firemen, seven members of the family had perished.
Mr. Yusuf continued, saying that their investigation showed that an electric spark started the fire and that the victims suffocated to death.
“We got a distress call in the wee hours of today through one Ibrahim Sani. When our men got to the scene, they discovered It was a residential house that was razed by fire outbreak.
“Seven people lost their lives in the incident as they were suffocated by the smoke from incident. The victims were rushed to the hospital where they were confirmed died.
“When our men got to the scene, they discovered the victims were evacuated to the hospital and neighbors as well as good Samaritan had put off the fire before our men got to the scene,” he said.
The spokesperson, therefore, advised residents to always disconnect electric appliances after use and while going out of their houses or offices to avert fire outbreaks.
