BREAKING: Rivers Assembly screen, clears 9 resigned commissioner
Following the political crisis that rocked the state, nine former commissioners resigned from Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s administration.
All of them have been rescreened and cleared by the Rivers State House of Assembly.
According to this medium, the commissioners submitted their resignation letters in November of last year in the midst of a confrontation between Fubara and his predecessor, former governor Nyesom Wike, who is currently the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
Fubara did, however, resubmit the nine applicants’ names to the State House of Assembly a few days ago for approval.
The former commissioners were instructed to “bow and leave” the chamber during Wednesday’s plenary session.
