On Saturday, Kogi State Deputy Governor Salifu Joel Oyibo prostrated before the immediate past governor of the state, Yahaya Bello.
Oyibo’s wife likewise knelt before Bello and his wife shortly after the deputy governor was sworn in.
After taking his oath of office, administered by the state’s Chief Judge, Justice Josiah Majebi, Oyibo and his wife approached Bello and prostrated before him.
Oyibo and Governor Usman Ododo were declared winners of the November 2023 governorship election.
Ododo, on the other hand, scheduled his first set of appointments soon after taking office.
He retained Bello’s followers, nephew, and a few commissioners.
He nominated Ali Bello as his Chief of Staff despite being charged with a N3 billion scam.
