Edo Guber: LP give fresh update on primaries, increases number of delegates

The Labour Party has accepted a minor change to its standards for the Edo State governorship primary election.

Following yesterday’s National Working Committee meeting, the party adjusted the entire timetable by one day, including the dates for purchasing and submitting forms for the delegate elections, the deadline for purchasing and submitting Expressions of Interest and Nomination forms for the governorship primary election, and the dates for appeals.

According to a statement published by the national publicity secretary, Mr. Obiora Ifoh, the form sale, which was originally scheduled to finish today, has been pushed out to Monday.

The governorship primaries, originally scheduled for February 22, will now be held on February 23.

Similarly, the party’s leadership has changed the guidelines for determining the party’s candidate for the election.

While two delegates will be elected from each of the state’s 192 political wards, the party’s leadership has boosted the number of Local Government delegates from five to seven in each of the 18 local government areas.
