BREAKING: Bandits attack Katsina Mosque, kill 3, Abduct Scores

On Thursday, gunmen suspected of being bandits stormed a mosque in Katsina’s Kankara local government district, murdering three people and capturing numerous more.

According to a reputable source in the neighborhood, the bandits attacked the mosque and opened fire on the Muslim faithful during the Isha’i evening prayer session, killing three people, injuring four others, and kidnapping an undetermined number of worshipers.

He went on to say that the hoodlums moved into town, abducted a man and two ladies, and killed a man who refused to accompany them.

“Unfortunately, the man’s refusal to go with the assailants cost him his life as he was mercilessly butchered for daring to defy the abductors,” the source said

Similarly, the bandits also attacked the residence of Sani Maikifi, a vigilante member, in Ungwar Tudun Boka within Kankara township on Thursday night, but he narrowly escaped through the backyard while his wife and son were abducted.

Findings showed that the hoodlums had been threatening Maikifi for some time, and this led to the sudden attack on Kankara town.

As at the time of this report, there was no reaction from either the State government or Katsina State Police Command regarding the attacks, as the renewed attacks have continued to raise concerns despite the efforts of the security operatives and members of the community watch corps in the state.
