JUST-IN: FG seals famous Sahad stores over stockpiling, exorbitant prices

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, or FCCPC, has sealed Sahad Store, a famous grocery in Garki area of Abuja.

The supermarket’s management was accused of shortchanging customers by charging prices that differed from those displayed on the shelves.

The development happened twenty-four hours after President Bola Tinubu announced intentions to address the root causes of the food crisis.

Adamu Ahmed Abdullahi, Acting Executive Vice Chairman of the FCCPC, led the enforcement effort.

On the sidelines of the event, Abdullahi informed journalists that the commission’s preliminary inquiry indicated that the supermarket’s management was shortchanging customers.

He stated that the store would be sealed till the additional inquiry was completed.
