JUST-IN: Kano TCN substation catches fire
On Sunday, a fire broke out at the Dan-Agundi Transmission Station in Kano, affecting multiple areas, Platinum Times reports.
The Dan-Agundi Transmission Station, a critical link in Kano City’s electricity supply system, was engulfed in smoke.
As at the time of reporting this report, the reason of the fire outbreak was unknown, as people awaited the arrival of firemen to extinguish it.
According to authorities, the ongoing fire is causing damage to high-capacity transformers, and emergency personnel have yet to arrive.
Meanwhile, TCN had not to publish an official statement at the time of this story.
The development may exacerbate the country’s already-epileptic electricity supply.
Recall that the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, pleaded with Nigerians to be patient during the two-month period of persistent power outages.
