Labour Party: Peter Obi backs Julius Abure’s National Working Committee
Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, has endorsed the party’s National Working Committee, which is managed by Julius Abure.
Obi joined the Labour Party’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT) chapter and supporters who gathered at the National Secretariat in solidarity with Abure following the 2024 National Convention in Anambra State.
This is the first time Peter Obi is joining the National Executive Committee of the Labour Party, after the national convention of the party on March 27, 2024.
Peter Obi was absent at the last convention of the party, which the Nigeria Labour Congress described as illegal.
His silence after the convention also raised doubts about his loyalty to the Julius Abure-led National Working Committee.
Peter Obi says he is more interested in the well-being of Nigerians, who are currently suffering untold hardship across the country.
