BREAKING: Sanusi II restored as Emir of Kano
Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has signed the Emirate Repeal Law 2024, which dissolves the five Emirate Councils established by the State’s immediate past Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, in 2019.
Consequently, the governor officially reinstated the ousted 14th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, to the Kano throne.
Addressing the press shortly after assenting the new law, the governor revealed that the five dethroned Emirs have 48 hours to vacate the palaces and submit all official items in their possession to the office of the deputy governor of the state, who doubles as the Commissioner for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs.
Governor Yusuf called for peace and harmony to reign in the state during the transition period.
Platinum Times Nigeria earlier exclusively reported that Sanusi II will return as Kano Emir and he is expected to make a grand entry to Kano on Friday.
