INEC chairman committed more crimes than Emefiele – Buba Galadima tells Tinubu
Buba Galadima, a leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to fire Mahmood Yakubu, the national chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to Buba, Yakubu allegedly plotted with other politicians to thwart Nigerians’ will during the most recent presidential election.
While speaking on Channels Television, the elder statesman made the plea to the president, stating that Yakubu’s actions were more significant than those of Godwin Emefiele, the previous governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), before he was dismissed.
Galadima insisted that the INEC director needed to be fired as well because he had committed more crimes than Emefiele.
Yakubu was charged with influencing the process and results of the 2023 presidential election.
Politicians had accused the INEC chairman of rigging the 2023 presidential election in President Tinubu’s favor.
