Nelson Sylvester, also known as Ofunwa, a councilor from Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State Legislative Council’s Eha-Ulo ward, was fatally shot.
According to Platinum Times, the congressman was assassinated on Sunday night at his home in Eha-Alumonah by armed men.
Although the incident’s specifics are still hazy, a reliable source revealed that the attackers broke into the lawmaker’s home and began shooting at him.
He continued by saying that the Councilor fled into a nearby compound, from which his dead body was later found.
Tension has been raised in the town and other nearby villages as a result of the construction.
The insider stated that “it is heartbreaking; it is too hard for us to swallow” after describing the alleged assassination as one too many. We are suffering greatly.
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Enugu, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, received calls from Platinum Times, but he declined to take them since he was not in the mood to do so. He also received a text message, but as of the time this report was filed, he hadn’t replied.
